Timbers, Wickard sponsor bowlathon

ANGOLA — Timbers Casual Dining and Lounge and The Wickard Companies are this year's Big Brothers Big Sisters Bowl For Kids' Sake major sponsors. It's been dubbed the Fiesta Bowl 2007, and includes prizes and food.

Bowling is being offered for five-person teams at Angola Bowl, 2305 N. Wayne St., Angola, on Saturday, Feb. 24, and Sunday, Feb. 25. Teams can choose slots during eight sessions, each day from 8-10 a.m., 10 a.m.-noon, noon-2 p.m. and 2-4 p.m.

Every team member raises $100 in pledges and then partcipates in bowling.

 

Angola bowlers help Big Brothers/Big Sisters

Representatives from the companies that raised the most funds for this year’s Big Brothers/Big Sisters Bowlathon received trophies Friday from Deanna Mashburn, at right, of the nonprofit agency, which represents northeastern Indiana and northern Michigan.

They are, from left, Mark Bradburn, Larry Johnson and Diana Johnson of Angola Wire/AWM; Kathy Vrana of the Wickard Cos.; Diane Kirchner of Dave’s Lake Shack; and Thad Wright and Lana Fanning of Star Financial. The bowlathon raised $23,531 with 73 teams bowling. Wickard was the top team.
